Motivational Mondays- Juicing while pregnant, and other baby things! :)

Good morning readers! Happy Monday! There's a lot of information for me to cover as I have taken a few weeks off from the blog. Why?? Well....I traveled home from Latvia back to Houston Texas & am finally settled all in. I also wanted to take some time & share my pregnancy moments with friends & family & to also get a workout routine down here at home. Well, after 3 weeks...success is mine! :)

For all my readers who didn't know, yes! We are expecting! A sweet baby Williams will be joining us in November. I am now heading into my 15th week of pregnancy & have been so fortunate to enjoy my first trimester without being sick or nauseous or gaining much weight. I have been able to stick to my workout routine & that's been such a happy relief for me! Don't worry though, I won't be spending this blog talking about my pregnancy every week! This blog is for motivation for all people....women, men, pregnant, & not! I don't want to limit my readers to hearing all about my growing belly....only a few tid-bits here & there about my pregnancy. If you ARE interested on the other hand about my pregnancy journey, you can find all my journey on Instagram (name: msjonez10) & in my new eBook "the belly journey" coming christmas. For now, check out Instagram or stick with the blog for regular motivational Mondays!

So....today, this blog is both about pregnant women & not! Many people have asked about my eating habits since becoming pregnant & I wanted to address that this week. I have continued eating a mostly clean diet. Before I was 85/15 when it came to processed & unprocessed foods. Now, I would have to say I am about 80/20. If there is a cookie & I want it, I usually will eat it now! If there are some chips or crackers that I want, I will usually eat that now! I am embracing being pregnant & not counting my calories or stressing as much.

I still have only gained about 4 pounds & I know it's because I have continued eating pretty well & exercising. I am sticking to a 3-4 days per week cardio & weight lifting routine. This is consisting of running, jogging, sprints, walking, lighter weights & more sets, & an occasional workout class with my mom. It's important that I continue working out throughout my pregnancy, but no worries, I'm lifting lighter & keeping a close eye on my heart rate & how my body is feeling!

One big thing I wanted to remind everyone of is juicing! This is a news flash for all, not just pregnant women! People have asked if I am continuing to juice while pregnant...the answer is YES! Of course! It's fruits & veggies....my baby needs that!! But...I am NOT juice fasting! No no no!!! I incorporate a 12oz. Serving of juice with 2 meals per day or as my snacks with nuts.

Soooo....why juice & what's in it?

I am following my juice detox plan which is on my website www.lifeofabballwife.wix.com/mwfit

Some favorite juices I am incorporating include...
Kale
Spinach
Celery
Orange
Beets
Carrot
Berries

As summer approaches, kids are getting out of school, travel is happening, there's busy days, holidays, & tons of opportunities to gain weight, get lazy, & not take care of your nutrition. Not only that, but here in Texas...it's hot!!! By juicing & eating good foods, my skin is also glowing & stays blemish free!

Benefits of juicing are endless, and I have wrote about them before, but they include...
*Increasing your metabolism
*Detoxing your skin & body
*Getting your daily dose of vitamins & minerals

For us pregnant women, the benefits of juicing include all of the above listed but also...
*folic acid in fruits which is crucial to our growing baby
*juicing ginger helps reduce nausea & an upset stomach
*added energy from the pure nutrients that don't take forever to digest like eating whole fruits & veggies

This summer, make sure you are taking care of your body! Whether you are pregnant or not...

DO....

Add more fruits & veggies
Juice several times daily
Eat 6 small meals per day
Stick to at least a 75% unprocessed diet
Eliminate fatty foods
Eliminate high carb foods
Lower your sun exposure, use sunscreen
Lower your sugar intake
Lower your caffeine intake
Lower your alcohol intake
Drink at least 2 liters of water per day

DONT...

Let summer get you lazy!!! Get up & move at least 30 minutes per day!

Have a wonderful week readers & thanks for bearing with me in my absence!

-Morgan
