Motivational Monday's--bringing in the new year!


"New Year, New Me" 

The most popular slogan out there for a new year! But how many of us really stick to our New Years resolutions? How many of us get super excited to start & by January 15 are done with the effort? What is it about New Years resolutions that make it seem impossible to actually see them through? 

As this week closes out 2015, I wanted to give you all a few tips to help keep those goals you set for 2016. They don't have to be fitness related (I enjoy other things too lol), but I do encourage you all to set goals for the new year that will advance you in all aspects of your life. I usually set goals about 4 times a year & January 1 is a great place to start! 

Success in achieving your goals this year...

1.) make them realistic. Make sure that your goal to become CEO of your company, is realistic to do in 1 year if you are the office secretary. Maybe that goal will take longer than 12 months. Maybe "move up 2 positions" might be more attainable this year.

2.) Don't cheat yourself. You are the only one who can push yourself enough to reach the goals YOU desire. Others can help you & encourage you, but you are the only one who can achieve the goals. Make sure that you are willing to put in the work to make those goals happen or you will only be disappointed when you don't achieve them! 

3.) Set a time limit- maybe it WILL be a year, maybe you want to achieve your goals in 3 months, 5 months. Whatever goals you have, make sure you put a time limit on them. Otherwise, you will be right here in 2018 hoping to achieve the same goals! Don't let your piece of paper with your goals just crumble & sit on your desk for 12 months, don't forget about these goals for 2016. Put them up where you always see them & set a time limit on when your going to achieve them- and actually do it! 

4.) Get some accountability! Just like in fitness, find a partner that knows your goals & time limits, & will help guide you & encourage you to keep pushing to achieve them! If it is fitness related, find a partner who will head to the gym with you, workout in the park with you, & encourage your new eating habits! We all can use a helping hand!! 

5.) Last & MOST important- don't give up!! If you fall off the wagon, start over. Most people set goals, fail, & by February they just give up. It takes time!! Keep going, keep pushing, & stop quitting!!! You become strong from the work you put in, you become great from failure, you become healthy from habit, & you become successful from trial & error. So don't stop, you got this!! 

Make 2016 a great year! Make this a successful year, & for once, make this a year where you actually achieve & see through all the goals & desires of your heart!! Go into 2016 with a clear & positive mind & spirit. Leave negativity in 2015 & make this new year prosperous in all aspects of your life!
