Today I wanted to talk about baby steps in life. In just one week, our sweet baby boy Logan has taken his first steps to an all out walk. Last weekend he took about 3 steps & then would fall down. We encourage him to clap afterwards & tell him good job. In the next 2-3 days he took a few more steps & the record was 9 steps in a row. Whoo!! Logan of course thought he was the coolest kid on the planet & would clap & clap....& clap, & clap! ((He-he)) . By Friday, we would not even notice him stepping anymore...we look up & he's just walking around all over. ((While clapping for himself)).
As I have watched my sweet baby boy, who has now been out of the womb just as long as he was in it (40 weeks); I couldn't help but think about his small little steps & how proud of those he was.
What if we started small? What if we strived for something & celebrated our small steps. Something like walking 15 minutes a day, to stop smoking, to have weekly date nights, morning devotionals, or monthly family game nights.
What if we laughed, clapped, & celebrated the little things in life more often? Maybe by taking the first few steps, we could progress to 9 steps, & then so much progress that we look up in disbelief that we have made it so far!!
We don't have to post it on Facebook or instagram, we don't have to tell anybody. Just start....
And give yourself a little clap when you do!
Whether it's in your fitness or your life in general, let's all take something small & grow it to something big that we can clap all day about!!
