Motivational Monday- change!!

Good morning readers & of course, HAPPY MONDAY!!! Last week was a craaazzzyyy week in my world and so I missed our motivational Monday. I thought about blogging on Tuesday or Wednesday, but of course, life continued to be crazy, and hubby lost a big game! And then, Valentines day weekend happened, and forget the blog, we were having a special weekend just for us! So….forgive me please, and lets talk about change today!

CHANGE----the best way to describe it is…Constant things that are always happening to us, and it never gets easier.

C- constant
H- happenings
A-always
N-never
G- getting
E- easier

Changes in life never get easier for me. Whether it is moving to another country, moving to another team, changing my diet, my workout routine, MY HAIR!! Even the positive changes in life usually aren’t easy, or weren’t easy to achieve. Some examples….

1. Losing weight is a change---was it easy to drop that 20 pounds?
2. Cutting your hair----it looks cute, but not everyone thinks that way, criticism sucks!
3. Moving----new job? Lost job? A move usually isn’t too easy, even the physical part of a move is a killer

But…..anything worth anything is worth time!

I wanted to address this topic of change because change is constant and it cant be avoided. Many people struggle with the topic of change. Some people fear change, some people don’t like change, some people are in love with change & adventure. This past week, I chopped off another 6 inches of my hair! Ok, crazy….for those that know me, know that I have been growing out my hair since I suffered through some medical issues in 2009. It was time for a change. This change to my hair was simple. Just a few weeks ago I chopped off another 6 inches of it!

So why the change? I wanted to get a new look. Although I love growing out my hair, I also love the power to explore a new look, and to know that those medical issues aren’t there anymore & if I wanted to grow it back out….i could, my choice.

Sometimes change gives us the power to be great!! In my life….change is BIG and happens ALL the time, probably more often than most. My husband is a pro athlete and every year we move to another country. Not a new zip code, not a new state, a new country. Very few speak English usually and no one is brown like us! We are different, we don’t look, act, or speak the same. This is a big change, and every year….its this way.

4 times a year, my body changes. I switch up my workout routines and my eating plans and totally change my body with seasons. These are big changes that occur with me.

There are little everyday changes too. Hubby loses a big game, hubby wins a big game, it snows, I get sick, the gym is closed, hubby travels & I get lonely, we eat at a new restaurant, & we watch a new TV series.

Change is always happening around us, whether good or bad, or whether we like it or not. Sometimes change is positive and sometimes it is negative. The best advice I can give to anyone is to embrace change. Embrace the changes in your body, your mind, and your life. Look for the positives in the negative changes, and every once in a while, CUT YOUR HAIR!!

Every once in a while, take a risk, make change happen on your terms, and explore new looks, new topics, & new things & people.

Traveling all over the world has not only been a change, but an incredible adventure. Losing most of my hair, and then growing it ½ way down my back has been an emotional freedom & a blessing of healing.  Learning to change my exercise routine & run, despite medical back problems has been a release & a wonderful challenge.

Sometimes in life change ends up shaping who you are! I am a better person for all the changes in my life.

Happy Monday & happy week to you all!
