Our 3F's---part 2--Family

Part 2 of our 3F journey through fasting, family, faith & what I've learned in this season of our lives. If you missed part 1 on Fasting, you can find it a few posts back.

We are enjoying our time in Germany and have ventured out on a few trips since we have been here. Logan is in school now & loving it. He went back & forth with a love/hate relationship but has finally settled into his routine & is learning a lot. We love his school & the teachers are wonderful.

So F number 2....FAMILY.

Our family is huge. Logan has 6 grandparents, lots of aunts, an uncle, lots of cousins & they are all spread out in age & gender. Zo & I both come from large families & I come from a very blended family. We are blessed that Logan gets so much love & being home a little longer this basketball season was a wonderful time & reminder that family is truly what it's all about. Logan was able to meet & play with so many family members he had never met or doesn't get to see very often. It's hard to leave for 9 months out of the year, especially with a young child; we are so grateful that for the 1st year of Logan's life, God blessed us with a few more days to "hang".

We also were reminded & are incredibly appreciative for Logan (& Zo & I's) extra "family". Those just amazing friends that treat you like blood, those Godly married couples that teach you how to stay that way!, those wonderful friends who take on roles to love on your baby boy like their own children, we are just so blessed.

And among the many lessons we learned in this season of life, remembering that family stretched beyond blood was one of them. Some people have been in our lives for 20 years, 10 years, 5 years, & 1 year; but they all hold special places in our hearts & now in the heart of our baby boy too.

There are so many lessons that God has shown us this year (2015) & season (2015-2016) in life. There is also lots of gifts He has bestowed this season. We can never be worthy but we can always be thankful. We know that not everyone is so fortunate, we know that tomorrow is not promised & we have made it our goal to remember that in our low season.

Whenever our faith has wavered...
Whenever our hearts were troubled...
Whenever our stress was high...
Whenever we had no clue what we were doing as parents...

FAMILY was ALWAYS the answer. Blood & bond, they were all there. We sure cherished the time spent with them all this season of life & look forward to big hugs in 3 months!!!!
